Preview - Rangers vs Cheadle Utd Thursday

The blog seems to have gone down hill in the last week or so, so I think its time we got it back going again!

This week sees the Rangers come up against Division 6 whipping boys Cheadle Utd Thursday. Last time out this game resulted in a great 16-3 victory for the Rangers. The question is – can they do it again?

Team news shows Belch returning to the squad, which will see him move back between the sticks. However an early rumour has it that he might try and get himself outfield for at least part of the game to show us that he isn’t just an excellent keeper but has some skills to attack with too.
It is currently touch and go as to whether Pie will be playing – a last day of current work drinking session will be preceding the game, and so he might not be in a fit state to play. Some people say I am never in a fit state to play, but never-the-less it will probably be a last minute decision. The only other absentee will be Rascle, who has had a recurrence of his toe injury. No word yet on how its looking, so assume he will be missing.
Otherwise its as you were, with Big Rick on stand by in case of an more withdrawals. Last week he was due to make only his second appearance for the Rangers when he had to pull out due to a viral infection.

So what do we know about the Cheadle Utd boys? Well as I mentioned above, they are the whipping boys of the division, currently sitting bottom of the league. With no points to their name, and a goal difference of an amazing –98!! It should in theory be a banker for the Rangers.

Prediction : The Rangers should win this game, and win it comfortably. As long as the keep their concentration they shouldn’t have a problem improving their goal difference either. The big question is, can the Fist get off the mark? And will Belly impress should he get out of net for a half?
