Put piggy to the vote. The games are over.
wow..

i must say, we're all harsh on piggy. At the best of times i feel bad about criticising him. But i have noticed just how much i say the "awareness" word now. How much he uses the outside of his foot to continually lose the ball. And its infuriating me about his pitch side manner after a substitution.
I have to ask that other people admit that he HAS shown glimpses of improvement. he's learning VERY slowly tho.
But as a team, we need to choose. Are we playing for fun, or for the win? We get so annoyed when we lose, so it can't all be matey fun. And there's really nothing pleasant about the bollocking that piggy endures by several members of this team that forget the jest in which we play. I still maintain that this is bad for piggy and the team.
But that said, encouragement hasnt helped. Criticism hasnt helped. Embaressing him in videos hasnt helped. Relentless gently pushing hasnt helped. Incessant hard pushing hasnt helped. I worry that dropping him really wont help. If you;ve noticed, whenever he is faced by a threatening person/situation, he will always go silent, turn away and quite often he will just change subject, or start talking to someone else. HE DOES NOT LISTEN. Christ, even time hasnt helped him.
I know i am not a good player. I am slow, labouring, and often indecisive. I dont commit to attack due to confidence. But i will give you all i can in defense! whether it helps or not, i try to be a productive member of the team. I'll never win a man of the match award, but then thats not what we ask of everyone!
I think as a team, we need to put this to a vote. Do we ask piggy to stand out for a match or two? Or face the fact that there are only 2 games left, and we may as well keep him in?
think about it...

I think giving him a 'rest' might be just the thing he needs. He doesn't seem to have the same enthusiasm at the moment. He has lost that spark that he seemed to have when we were going to Vida. I reckon drop/rest him next game, maybe next 2 till the end of the season. I think it will be for his benefit.
I know its just a matey kick about, but if we have a chance of winning then all the better. I don't want to go have a good game, stand a chance of winning and then not because Piggy cant be bothered.
There you go.

Piggy's recent performances have been shocking. However, he's not alone here. There has been a deterioration of a lot of people recently. I myself have scored very few goals. I use to get one every two three games, now I get two/three a season. By far the most noticeable is fitness though. Considering half the team have signed up for the Great Manchester run, it really doesn't show. Mini is right in summing up our striking problems in the second half as everybody hanging back because they haven't got the energy to run to the other end.
As for the answer, I think give piggy one last chance. If he doesn't show enough awareness in the next match then we'll have to have a very frank session with him.
acrington who? But yes, i agree he loves the glamour (?) of scoring in 5-a-side, but not just that, he takes too long to turn. However he did have a better game tonight. But i AM about to watch the tape, and as such, may report differently...
