New Kit Update

I thought I'd start another post on the new kit situation.
I e-mailed the footballkitdesigner site and they said no, they don't do short sleeves (see the article link about it... http://www.footballkitdesigner.co.uk/long-sleeves_article.html). But they did give me another web site, www.legea-uk.com, who do some good looking kits and there are links to the various suppliers around here.
I had a look on www.jsoccer.co.uk and they do a custom kit designer with names, numbers, etc so that's an option too.
Finally John mentioned http://www.team-colours.co.uk/football which also looks good and says they do names, badges, etc.
Anyway as usual discuss and if people want to pick a site each and do a little enquiring we can get some quotes, I'll go for JSoccer for now.

Well, not gonna have much chance to look before wednesday, but we do need to think about new shirts carefully. My biggest complaint about the latest shirts is sweat management!! They are awful at it! And although that footballkitdesigner website only did long sleeve, they did do good shirts. J soccer have good shirts too! lots of panels we can choose, but its a tad more pricey.

Basically we need to ask a few questions:
1) How many shirts do we need? Obviously the "magnificent 7" will need new ones. And Justin has expressed interest. But its doubtful Anton or lifey will need ones. Nor Dr H.
2) Do we really need a full kit?
We can save money in just purchasing shirts. I'm not fussed about shorts and socks, although i know some people would like these.
3) Pricing! We need to agree a price for the shirts and then get them priced up. Remember that the origination and embroidery disk can be costly. We already have one of these at the company that made the polo's. I will look into this when i get home and see what they can do for shirts.
4) Shirt design!! Its daft, but this is important! I'd like a snazzy kit with Navy/white panels. Something a bit different. Also, some sites do actual adidas and nike shirts which they can embroider. Sweat management and breathing will be good in these! But remember, whatever we choose we need goalie tops!

Which begs the question, what does mark buy?! He's in goals for the time being and being a star. But he'll doubtless be outfield when belly returns! So i think for these times we should ALL chip in to cover the price of a non branded, but BRFC embroidered goalie top that anyone can use when we're shy on keepers.

Ok... Now go hunt for shirts!

Sweat management my arse. You'll believe anything Nike and addidas put on their websites. I personally don't see anything wrong with what we've got.

I would go for a new shirt, we've had the one's we've got a while now and I think it might be good for a change.

But obviously if not everyone is happy we can't do it! No point in half the team having a kit and half not...

Anyway Rangers colours are mainly dark (navy) blue with a touch of white in the trim (at least thats what I've always thought!! :) ).

Shiz, you spelt adidas wrong for a start! Secondly i'm a tad bit bigger than you! And for me its like the difference in running a marathon in a thin ventilated well designed sports top, and running one in a thick cotton shirt. Sure you can do both, but its MUCH more comfortable in a piece of kit made for the job! It's all relative! Sure i love the crap they spout on about on these websites! But I'm not asking for X-Static Dri-Fit ClimaCool sweat wicking space fabric!! just a legea cheap shirt with heat management!

And john, you wrote exactly what i did! Navy blue shirt, with maybe some white panelling down the sides instead of an all blue shirt with white piping again. And this doesnt mean spending a fortune! Most of the sites i've seen already offer a premade design! And they wont cost too much!

We do need to confirm it with everyone first, as you say, no point wasting an evening hunting for prices if we're not serious about this. But for gods sake if we do do it, can we PLEASE have something a lil bit nice? I cant see the point in spending money on what would effectively be an embroidered version of what we already have! There are quite a few catchy designs on that legea site, and on j soccer!

Its a start anyway. I've gotten pictures of short sleeved footy shirts so i can search for the names of the shirts instead now. much easier to find, as tbh ALL these companies prefer long sleeve tops for players, although they are designed for 11am sunday mornings. Still, we can discuss at the match tomorrow.

My three penneth.

Our current shirts cost about £15-18 or something didnt they, so I wouldn't be wanting to spend any more than that.

Agree with whoever has said that at the moment everyones shirts seem to be holding up so it could be seen as a waste of money. If its not broke dont fix it as they say. (If it doesnt fit, lose weight. It you sweat too much, get fitter!(or dont wear trousers!))

Personally would not want socks and shorts IF we got new shirts.
Wouldnt want to spend the £21 -28 quid quoted as could get a proper footy shirt for that.

I think we should leave this for now, as some people don't want a new kit which is fair enough and we can't make everyone get one.

Getting new kits was more a luxury thing than a necessity so there's no rush.

Yeah, may as well sack the idea in. Not many people are that fussed and the last ones only cost us £9 including numbers. Plus, we'd look really stupid playing the way we did on thurs in a shiny good looking top. Still, we'll put it on the back burner with the ties and winning division 1!!
